Mailshell Domino Plugin - Installation

1. Download Mailshell Domino Plugin
Download the Mailshell Domino Plugin software to your computer.

2. Shutdown your Domino server
Before installing the Mailshell Domino Plugin, you will need to shutdown your Lotus Domino server.

3. Install Domino Plugin
Install the Mailshell Domino Plugin by running MailshellDominoPlugin.exe.

4. Configure Domino Server Settings
After completing installation, please enter some information about your Domino server installation.

You will see the following dialog window:

  1. Enter the path to your Domino directory.
  2. Enter the location of your notes.ini.
  3. Select the version of your Lotus Domino server.
  4. Click the "OK" button.

5. Configure Domino Plugin Settings
You are now ready to configure the Domino Plugin.

You should see something like:

  1. Check the "Enable Domino Plugin" check box to enable the plugin.
  2. Enter the field name that the Domino Plugin will look for in the message header to determine that a message is spam.
  3. Enter the name of the users' mail folder where spam messages will be stored.
  4. Check the "Enable Logging" check box to enable the log file.
  5. Check the "Enable Automatic Cleanup of Spam Folder" check box to enable automatic cleanup.
  6. Click the "OK" button to save your settings and exit the Domino Plugin Manager.

To run the console again in the future, go to "Start->Programs->Mailshell Domino Plugin->Domino Plugin Manager".

6. Start your Domino Server

7. Test Plugin
To test the Domino plugin, send a spam message to your Domino server. By default, messages with the "X-SpamCatcher-Flag" field (which is inserted by Mailshell's Gateway software) will be moved to the SpamCatcher folder.

Other gateway software will likely require a different "Spam Field Name" setting. The gateway's documentation should be consulted to determine the proper header setting.
