1. What do I do if I received a "Component
did not register successfully. Please check credentials
you provided" error?
Make sure you entered the correct username
and password in the "Application Identity" and "Password"
fields.
2. What if I cannot register the Exchange
event sink?
Make sure you are logged as the user you created
in step 2 of the installation process. Additionally, confirm
that the user is a member of the Administrators and Exchange
Domain Servers groups (also applies for Exchange 2003).
3. Which spam messages are deleted at the
scheduled checks? All of them? All messages older than the
last check? Does that mean that every 30 days, it will delete
all messages older than 30 days or all of them ?
It works just like the Deleted Items folder
in Outlook. All messages in the folder are removed each
time the event triggers.
4. If the folder name is changed, will a new
folder be created or will the previous folder be renamed?
A new folder will be created.
5. How do I specify what list of headers
to look for?
You can enter the header in the "Spam Header"
textbox in the Exchange Plugin Manager. Installation populates
this entry with "X-SpamCatcher-Flag: Yes" as the default.
6. Do we support clustering?
We have not tried or tested Clustering yet.
7. Where is the log? How do I change the location?
Can I disable it?
You can do this from the Exchange Plugin
Manager. Click on the "Enable Logging" checkbox to enable
it and the path to the log file in the "Log file name" textbox.
By default logging is disabled.
8. If I manage to apply MailshellExchangePlugin
to the whole Information store, is MailshellExchangePlugin
then automatically applied to future users and mailboxes
that are created?
Yes.
9. Does the email client matter at all?
No.
10. Can we apply MailshellExchangePlugin to
all message stores on a server with multiple stores?
Yes.
11. How much does this cost?
The Mailshell Exchange Plugin software is
unsupported freeware.
