Consumer Reports
Magazine Says Mailshell Has Fewest False Positives
The August issue of Consumer
Reports magazine reviews spam filters
and recommends Mailshell's technology above
all others for people who "prefer to minimize
valid email mistakenly classified as spam,
while still getting a very good spam blocker."
Mailshell Introduces SDK
Lite
Earlier this month Mailshell
introduced a new Linux-based low-memory version
of its SDK. Mailshell's new SDK Lite requires
less than 200KB of code on the device, and
can be embedded into any product including
mobile devices, wireless access points, desktop
routers, firewalls, modems, and other low
memory devices.
Mailshell OEM Partner
Stalker Software Wins Again
Stalker Software's CommuniGate
Pro messaging solution won 'Best Messaging
Solution' this month at Linux World 2004 in
San Francisco. CommuniGate Pro has won a Linux
World award three of the last four years.
Stalker licenses the Mailshell SDK and sells
a 'Powered by Mailshell' spam filter plugin
for CommuniGate Pro.
SpamAssassin Flaw Uncovered
A recent malformed spam
severely impacted the performance of SpamAssassin,
the open source rules-based spam filter. This
new form of spam caused SpamAssassin's Bayesian
analysis to run at slow speeds. Several of
Mailshell's existing OEM partners previously
relied on SpamAssassin before replacing SpamAssassin
with the Mailshell SDK.
Mailshell is the OEM anti-spam
leader. By using Mailshell's software development
kit, Mailshell's partners increase their average
revenue per customer, create new sources of
recurring revenue, and decrease sales and
support costs. The Mailshell Engine is the
only anti-spam solution developed explicitly
to integrate spam-blocking technology with
common IT components, including security appliances,
mail servers, anti-virus applications and
many others.
'Powered by Mailshell' technology
is currently deployed by more than 4,000 companies
and 10 million users worldwide.
