Note: A Treo 650, with Palm OS 5.4.5, connected to the United States Cingular network was used.

1. Use the Home key to go to Applications.

2. Select the Prefs application from the Applications menu.

3. From the Preferences menu, select the Network.

4. Click "Details..." on the Network screen.

Before proceeding, please save your original network connection as a duplicate, and then edit the duplicate. To create a duplicate, press the Menu button, and use the Service Menu on the Preferences screen.

The original network connection will always revert back to its regular settings, overwriting the Mailshell settings.

Note: If the lock icon is red, click "Modify" before proceeding so you will be able to change your DNS settings. The lock icon should be green and the status "Unlocked".

5. Click Advanced on the Details screen.

6. Uncheck Query DNS on the Advanced screen.

Leave the IP Address checkbox checked for "Automatic" (default).

7. Enter the Mailshell nameservers in Primary DNS and Secondary DNS fields.

Before proceeding, please write down your current DNS settings, so you may revert to your original settings at any time.

Preferred DNS server address for Mailshell is: 209.157.66.245

Alternate DNS server address for Mailshell is: 74.208.45.33

8. Click OK on the Details screen.

9. At the bottom of the Preferences > Network screen, click Connect.

10. After you Connect, click Done.

Note: You may need to run the Blazer web browser and select Options > Preferences > Advanced tab > Set Proxy and uncheck the "Use default carrier proxy" option (default) in order for Mailshell to work properly.
