What are pending addresses?

Pending addresses are disposable email addresses that have received messages but were not explicitly created or approved; the first time you receive a message at one of these addresses, it will appear on your "Approve Pending Addresses" page. To see these addresses, go to the Disposable Email Addresses section of Spam Filtering and click the "Approve Pending Addresses" link.

From this page, you can approve or delete the addresses and choose where you want pending addresses delivered.

What does it mean to "approve" a pending address?

To provide an additional layer of protection for your disposable addresses, Mailshell treats all addresses that receive email but that you have not explicitly created as "pending addresses" until they are either approved or deleted. When you approve a pending address, it is added to your list in the Disposable Email Addresses section of Spam Filtering, just as if you had created it.

How do I approve a pending address?

First, go to the Disposable Email Addresses section of Spam Filtering and click the "Approve Pending Addresses" link. You will see a list of pending addresses waiting for your approval. Then:

• Use the checkboxes to select the addresses you wish to approve.



• Use the menu at the bottom of the list to select where you want these addresses delivered. (If you want to approve addresses but have them delivered to different places, you will need to approve each group of addresses separately.)



• Click the "Approve" button.

These addresses will now appear on your Disposable Email Addresses list, just as if you had explicitly created them.

How do I delete a pending address?

First, go to the Disposable Email Addresses section of Spam Filtering and click the "Approve Pending Addresses" link. You will see a list of new addresses waiting for your approval. Then:

• Use the checkboxes to select the addresses you wish to delete.



• Click the "Delete" button at the bottom of the list.

Email sent to these addresses will now bounce back to the sender as undeliverable. If you change your mind and wish to receive email at an address you deleted, you can easily undelete it.

How do I change where pending addresses are delivered?

All pending addresses are delivered to the same place. There are two ways to change this setting:

• From the Disposable Email Addresses section of Spam Filtering, click the "Approve Pending Addresses" link. Use the "Deliver Pending Addresses To" menu to select the new setting and click the "Save Settings" button.



• From the Options page, click the "Delivery Settings" link. Use the "Deliver Pending Addresses To" menu to select the new setting and click the "Save Settings" button.
