If you wish to customize the filtering strength, click on

on the Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook toolbar. On the Mailshell
Anti-Spam popup, double-click General Options. Check "Enable
custom spam filter strength", then drag the slider between
Aggressive and Lenient to set a filtering strength. Please
note that choosing very aggressive filtering may result
in some messages being incorrectly caught as spam. If that
occurs, you may reduce the filtering strength or add to
the Approved Senders list. Click the OK button when done.
How do I disable automatic
updates to the Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook rules?
By default, Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook automatically
downloads updates to spam filters used to analyze your new
mail. To disable automatic updates, click on the Mailshell

How do I bounce a message
to a sender that I block?
You can have Mailshell automatically send
a bounce message to senders you manually block. This lets
the senders know their messages have been rejected as spam.
This may cause some senders to stop sending you emails in
the future and this may notify legitimate senders that you
may have accidentally blocked them. To enable this option,
click on the Mailshell Anti-Spam icon
on the Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook toolbar. On the Mailshell
Anti-Spam popup, double-click General Options. Check "Enable
bouncing of message that I block", then click the OK button.
How do I set a proxy server?
If you access the web through an HTTP proxy
server, you will need to set the server and port so that
Mailshell Anti-Spam can connect to the Mailshell Network.
Additionally, if your proxy requires a username and password,
you will need to enter the information in the fields provided.
To specify your preference, click on the Mailshell Anti-Spam
icon
on the Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook toolbar. On the Mailshell
Anti-Spam popup, double-click General Options. Check "Enable
proxy server support", enter your proxy server and its port
number, along with its username and password if applicable,
and then click the OK button.
How do I enable Inbox scan
on startup?
Mailshell Anti-Spam can scan your Inbox for
new unread messages when Outlook starts up.
To enable Inbox scan on startup, click on
the Mailshell Anti-Spam icon
on the Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook toolbar. On the Mailshell
Anti-Spam popup, double-click General Options. Check "Enable
Inbox Scan on Startup" and then click the OK button.
How do I enable Scan of Folders?
Mailshell Anti-Spam can scan additional folders (other
than the Inbox) for new mail. You may add a folder to scan by clicking
on the Mailshell Anti-Spam icon
on the Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook toolbar. On the Mailshell Anti-Spam
popup, under the General Options section, click on "Enable Scan
of Folders"; then select the Add button. On the popup menu, select
a folder you would like to scan or click New to create a new folder,

appear to be fraud (also known as phishing) in the Phish

Anti-Spam popup, under the General Options section, click
on "Preferred Languages", check the languages
you want to accept in your emails, then click the OK button.
How do I disable the ping
checks?
Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook sends ping requests
to detect whether or not your computer is able to connect
to the Mailshell Network. If you are behind a firewall which
blocks ping requests, you can disable this setting. To disable
ping checks, click on the Mailshell Anti-Spam icon
on the Mailshell Anti-Spam Outlook toolbar. On the Mailshell
Anti-Spam popup, double-click General Options. Uncheck "Enable
ping checks", then click the OK button.
Note: This setting applies to Mailshell Anti-Spam
Outlook releases up to version 2.1h only. Versions 2.2 and
later do not send ping requests. We recommend that you upgrade
to a newer version.
